Big Bass 3in1
We picked up Big Bass 3in1 expecting a throwaway time-killer and ended up leaving it installed for a couple of weeks. The whole thing is built around fishing, but the '3in1' part means you get three distinct little modes stitched together, and switching between them keeps the loop from getting stale. One mode is a calm cast-and-reel routine, another leans into timing challenges, and the third is more of a collection game where you're filling out a book of catches.
Controls are exactly as simple as they should be on a phone. You tap to cast, hold and release to reel, and the game does a good job telling you when to react. There's a satisfying bit of tension when a bigger catch fights back and the screen gives you a gentle rumble and a tug indicator. Nothing here fights your thumbs, which is why it works so well in short bursts.
What surprised me was how well it holds up on older hardware. It loads fast, the water animation is genuinely nice, and it never nagged me to keep playing. It's not a deep game and it doesn't pretend to be, but as a low-pressure thing to open while waiting for coffee, it's easily one of the better casual picks we've tried this season.
